If you’ll ask me if the Gambia is an agricultural minded country, my answer will be that it’s indisputably so.
Everywhere you’ll look, you will see cattle… In the smaller villages, in the bigger cities and even so while travelling inland, you’ll need to make an emergency stop on the highway because there is a herd of cows that decided to cross over.
The capture I’m sharing today features cattle, cattle in the form of a livestock market in Serakunda city. This market is located on the outer rim of the city and has 4 large sections. Sheep, goats, cows and the section where cattle is slaughtered on demand. Luckily we only went to see the first three sections.
All of these sections had some vultures circling above, hoping to get some scraps I guess. Closer to the slaughter area, it automatically meant more vultures. The cows were located near the end of the line, and most of the vultures decided to huddle up on top of a small shack, as you can see in the top right corner of my capture.
Let me know your thoughts and as always, check back in a while for more Gambian content that’s coming your way! . . . . .
