A traditional Gambian kitchen, straight from mid-country Gambia while visiting a family compound. Food will be prepared in this shack and cooked on the rocks in my captures foreground. I’m so glad we have a normal kitchen at home…
What’s also unbelievable, this shack’s size is about 3×3 meters… And so are the two shack’s the family use to sleep in… shared between two women and about eight children, amazing!
Oh, and, the man of the house… he’s sleeping open air, underneath an mosquito net. The reason? A third shack burned down to the ground by accident.
